ATLANTA, GA, May 17, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ — Georgia pest control company Team Pest USA warns Atlanta homeowners that a warm winter can cause an early mosquito presence. With the particularly mild winter Atlanta has had, early Atlanta mosquito control will be essential to ward off mosquitoes later this Spring and Summer.

“Mosquitoes usually start to wake up during late February when we have a normal, cold winter,” notes Brandon Pelfrey, owner of Team Pest USA. “However, with the unusually warm winter we’ve had this year, mosquitoes are already coming out in full force. Early mosquito prevention is the best way for Atlanta homeowners to avoid having their yards overrun later in Spring and throughout the Summer.”

In addition to being a nuisance, mosquitoes carry a host of blood-borne diseases, like West Nile Virus, that pose a genuine threat to humans, especially the young, elderly, and pregnant. Pets also suffer from mosquito-borne illnesses like heartworms, which can be deadly to your pet. Keep your family safe! Atlanta pest control company Team Pest USA provides a complete Atlanta mosquito control system to both eradicate and discourage mosquito populations from growing in your backyard.

The total value of the UK pest control market is now over £300m in value, having experienced sustained growth despite the turbulent economic climate of recent years. Growth has come from both increases in volume – impacted by growth in the number of relevant premises, penetration of contracts and trends in service levels – and price.

Key Industry Issues

- Key value drivers include sales capability, customer retention, success in selling on higher service levels technician productivity and optimising business mix. Leading companies have launched initiatives in all of these areas.

- Entry barriers to local pest control are relatively low with a history of new operators being set up by workers who have learned their trade while either working for a local authority or one of the large companies.

- Market and segment entry barriers include accreditation, which is operated by bodies such as the National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA) and having the necessary scale to service national accounts.

- There is some evidence of both bundling of contracts with other FM services and in-sourcing of pest control.

- Pest control is a relatively labour intensive business with technician salaries in the region of £18-25,000.

Competitive Landscape

- Rentokil remains the market leader, and is the best known brand amongst consumers, with a handful of other operators having the scale to provide a national service and many smaller providers.

- Local councils have historically been significant providers of pest control services, although some are reviewing their provision to meet government spending reduction targets.

Outlook

While pest control is not a particularly cyclical industry, an improving macroeconomic outlook is welcome especially to the extent that it supports increased construction activity, and hence demand for pest control services, in key customer segments

(NaturalNews) Companion planting for pest control and to encourage plants to grow with more vigor has fascinated men for centuries; however, few backyard gardeners know how to use these natural methods for organic sustainability and how to improve your garden. Plants that work together to help one another grow; plants that repel insects for organic pest management; and plants that repel other plants for natural herbicide control are of great value to both small backyard gardeners and commercial growers.

Certain protective botanicals don’t always act instantaneously, and must be planted several years or seasons in advance to be of utmost cumulative effect. For example, companion planting pest control using marigolds to prevent nematode growth should be done at least one season ahead before expecting to see great results.

It’s important to remember that both secretions and odors from various plants are valuable traits for organic pest control and companion planting where repelling or attracting certain aspects and effects is attempted.

Companion planting for chemical free pesticides and organic sustainability is a huge subject that can take years to master; however, there are a few easy things you can do in your own garden right now to make use of this intriguing method of gardening.

1. Protect carrots by planting them with leeks to repel both carrot and onion flies. They won’t even lay their eggs and your yield will increase tremendously.

2. Growing radishes or kohlrabi? Plant them with lettuce to repel earth flies that hate the smell of lettuce and make them take flight.

3. Aphids will injure almost all plants, causing headaches for gardeners everywhere. To repel aphids, plant nasturiums around broccoli and bunches of chives among sunflowers and tomatoes to discourage infestations.

4. Ladybugs are natural enemies to aphids and are excellent for use in organic pest management. Order ladybugs in bulk online or buy them from gardening centers. If you’re wondering how to improve your garden and reduce the aphid population, this is one of the most effective methods of doing so.

5. Asparagus and tomatoes complement one another and improve the vigor of both plants. Place a row of asparagus between two rows of tomato plants.

6. Beans and potatoes work in concert for organic pest control. Planting bush beans with potatoes in alternating rows protects the spuds from the Colorado potato beetle and the beans from the Mexican bean beetle.

7. Broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables belonging to the cabbage family do well when companion planted with celery, dill, peppermint, sage and rosemary; as well as potatoes, onions and beets.

8. Repel moles around a vegetable garden with a border of castor beans; mice with a border of daffodils; and yarrow makes a wonderful boarder for an herb garden as it encourages the growth of essential oils in the herbs.

9. Remember that companion planting for pest control includes keeping those cute little rabbits out of the garden. Onions repel rabbits and can be inter-planted with peas, beans, lettuce and cabbage.

10. If your garden attracts raccoons, plant corn and pumpkins together so that the large pumpkin leaves grow around the base of the corn stalks. Cayenne pepper sprinkled on the corn silk will also act as a deterrent.

Because some plants are poisonous, it’s important to keep unattended young children away from the garden. Natural organic pest control may be a complex subject; however, there are many simple things you can do in to improve your garden for increased vegetable yield and organic sustainability.

Now what are we going to do? Louise Hodges remembered saying.

Avid outdoors enthusiasts, the couple noticed that people in Beaufort, their new home, didnt spend a lot of time outdoors because of all the bugs. That got their wheels turning.

They knew mosquito-misting systems were around, but the Hodges wanted an all-natural pest-control solution. They started doing research and came across a Texas company that was using the natural ingredient of cedar to kill and repel pests. The ingredient is one of 31 that have been deemed safe for humans and the environment by the Environmental Protection Agency.

Cedar to pests is like ammonia to humans, Louise Hodges said.

Cedar gives off a scent that thwarts smell-driven pests such as mosquitoes and sand gnats, but it is harmless to butterflies, lady bugs, honey bees and other sight-driven insects that generally dont pester humans.

They took two formulas, improved them and hired a manufacturer in Raleigh to make them. They called the solution Greenbug.

In addition to developing the products, the two Clemson University graduates then got to work on a new pest-control system.

Louise Hodges, who has a degree in industrial management and is the company president, developed a mechanical-injection system that controls the amount of solution sprayed on a yard and ties into new and existing yard sprinkler systems. Her husband, the vice president, is responsible for shipping and fulfillment.

The provisionally patented system costs about $1,500 for parts and installation. The one-gallon jugs of pest control solution cost about $275 each. About two or three gallons will be used in a year for an average-size yard. One gallon should last four to six months. A half-gallon of the product is diluted in two gallons of water and poured into a 2.5-gallon reservoir connected to the home irrigation system.

Hodges recently set up her first system in Charleston at the home of a retired Ryder System and Olsten Staffing Services executive in Beresford Hall off Clements Ferry Road in Berkeley County.

Its too early to tell if its going to work, said Gordon Bingham, who had the system installed about a month or so ago when he moved into the new home from Brickyard Plantation in Mount Pleasant. We have had no problems with no-seeums but a little problem with mosquitoes.

A leak in the irrigation line near the control panel caused water to pool near the house before it was corrected, and Hodges thinks that is most likely what led to Binghams recent mosquito problem. A new spray line also was installed along a driveway beside the marsh to repel mosquitoes.

The automatic system comes on each day at a time different from the grass-watering schedule so it wont be diluted. Each zone in the yard is sprayed two minutes or soaked with a drip line for four minutes.

Once the cedar starts to infiltrate an area, they will smell it, and it creates a barrier, Hodges said. As long as you smell cedar, you know its effective.

Unlike synthetic pesticides, the all-natural solution cannot be overapplied. It will just cost you more money to use more, Hodges said. And no matter how much you use, its safe for children and pets.

We are trying to create an area where humans can comfortably live without pests, Hodges said. You will still have all the nature that you want.

Since incorporating the business in October 2009, the couple have sold more than 12,000 two-ounce bottles of Greenbug pest spray for humans. It repels and kills mosquitoes, ticks, bed bugs, sand fleas, head lice, fire ants and other insects, according to the bottle.

It retails for $7.95 and can be found in 120 shops from just over the border in North Carolina near Myrtle Beach to Florida. Its also sold online in the U.S. and Canada. Locally, Half-Moon Outfitters, Dwell Smart, Charleston City Marina Sea Store and a few other select locations stock it.

We have never had a product returned for lack of performance, Louise Hodges said. It works, and its safe.

As for the home systems, after the Hodges installed a Greenbug test system in their yard about 18 months ago and a second pilot system in a clients yard about six months later, they spent several months revamping and perfecting the system and began selling them in earnest earlier this year.

A lot of kinks had to be worked out, Hodges said.

So far, they have installed six systems with four more on order.

Some of those are test systems, such as the one at Binghams house off Clements Ferry Road.

We are about to turn the corner, Louise Hodges said. We are now experiencing the benefits of two years of a lot of hard work.

Wasp Nest Control Manchester eradicate wasps nests throughout the locations of Manchester, Trafford, Lancashire, North Cheshire and Merseyside for one fixed fee of just £32 or £44.50 for person’s residing in postcode areas L, CW and CH.

If you are living outside our region of operations have a look at our Discover A WASP NEST CONTROLLER page to locate a firm locally.

Wasp Nest Control Manchester operate seven days every week during the entire wasp season of June – November and we will not charge extra money for call outs in the evening hours or at weekend.

If you would like to clear away a wasp nest call Wasp Nest Control Manchester we answer our phones from 8.00 am to 10.00 pm including weekends.

In The Uk Wasp Nest Control Manchester encounter three major species of wasps. The Common Wasp (Vespula vulgaris), the German wasp (Vespula Germanica) and the so called ‘Euro Wasp’ (Dolichovespula media), a recent arrival from the continent.

In practise there is no need for Wasp Nest Control Manchester to distinguish the species of wasp we’re dealing with because they all respond to the exact same treatments.

Regardless of urban myth Wasp Nest Control Manchester do not ever take care of hornets (Vespula crabro) around the North West because we just do not find them this far north. There is a local myth in this area that hornets are much smaller than wasps when in fact they are many times bigger.

The biology of all of the type of wasps destroyed by Wasp Nest Control Manchester is exactly the same.

The wasp nest commences with a single wasp queen in early spring. On awaking from her hibernation in late March or early April she will feed herself on aphids and grubs before starting to build the nest.

She constructs a cocoon slightly smaller than a golf ball using ‘wasp paper’, made by chewing rotten wood and mixing it with her saliva.

In the rudimentary nest she’ll lay a few eggs, usually less than 20 and raise these baby wasps until they can fly. When the first group of wasps are flying she goes inside of the nest and never comes out again. Her job will now be to lay eggs and she is looked after by the workers.

Wasp Nest Control Manchester will get many calls during the early summer from those who see these early nests in outhouses and garden sheds. Even these small nests really need to be treated with care as even the queen can sting.

The construction of the nest picks up pace in June and early July as the nests can double in size seemingly daily.

The eventual scale of the nest seems to be governed through weather but generally would be about the size of a medicine ball. Wasp Nest Control Manchester have however seen wasp nests greater than Borough Council wheelie bin.

Wasp Nest Control Manchester will will often be asked ‘what good do wasps do?’. Believe it or not for the majority of of the summer they feast upon garden pests particularly greenfly and caterpillars, therefore they actually are friends to the gardener.

For most of the summer the wasps made by the nest are sterile females but as autumn gets near the nest will begin to produce new queens and males. Typically a nest will create about 2000 new queens.

As the wasp stinger is a modified ovipositor, male wasps can’t sting, but even Wasp Nest Control Manchester can’t tell a male from a female, so far better to avoid.

The males mate with the new queens after which as september turns to wintertime the males plus the sterile workers all die and newly mated queens select a hibernation site to spend the winter prior to starting the whole process again in the spring.

Wasp Nest Control Manchester are often asked to remove old wasp nests. That is neither advisable nor necessary. The wasp nest is spent and it will never be used again. There’s absolutely no reason to remove a wasp nest, even when it is possible to access it, which they rarely are.

Whenever a worker wasp feeds a wasp grub inside the nest the wasp grub produces a sweet sticky substance that the worker wasps crave. However when we move into late summer the nest no longer produces grubs therefore the workers cannot receive their ‘fix’ of the sweet substance. It is during this period of year that they now start to be troublesome, switching from the protein diet of aphids and grubs to a new diet of sweet foods which includes fruit.

This is the reason that they’ll cluster around your barbecues and beer gardens, seeking out sweet food and becoming an over-all nuisance.

It is not advisable to try and do away with a wasp nest all by yourself since it is easy to sustain countless stings in a short time. Wasps tend to be at their most dangerous in the immediate vicinity of their nests.

Wasp Nest Control Manchester will destroy your nest for you by adding an pesticide inside the entrance hole. The returning wasps will carry this powder straight into the nest and the whole nest will be dead very quickly.

Wasp Nest Control Manchester will do this technique from outside your property even if it is possible to view the nest from the inside. Only on rare circumstances will Wasp Nest Control Manchester have to go into your loft or attic.

Wasp Nest Control Manchester are often called to wasp nests where home-owner has made an effort to seal the entrance to the nest will expanding foam or mastic. This is often a very bad idea as well as making the work a good deal more challenging for Wasp Nest Control Manchester, it is going to probably force the wasps straight into the house.

It is best to call Wasp Nest Control Manchester to eliminate the nest the instant you notice it. Wasp nests treated after mid-September have started to make the new queens and additional extra-cost work for instance smoking or fogging the loft area might possibly be needed to wipe out these.

Simply because of the biology of wasp nests it will be unlikely that you will see wasps before late May or early June unless it was an exceedingly warm spring. ‘Wasps’ seen flying around the house in April or May will always prove to be bees.

Wasp Nest Control Manchester won’t eradicate solitary bees since they are harmless and can’t sting.

If the ‘wasps’ nest suddenly appears within your garden, usually hanging on a branch of a tree, chances are they will not be wasps but honey bees. If this happens to you call Wasp Nest Control Manchester as we will in all probability be capable of re-home them with a beekeeper. We charge £75 for this service as we must break our day to get the bees to their new home as quickly as possible.

Wasp Nest Control Manchester charge £32.00 to get rid of a wasp nest or £44.50 for postcode areas L, CH and CW.

The wasp is divided into two entirely different species. There’s the social wasp, and then there’s also the solitary type. The first one you should think about and be bothered is the social wasps because they are the types that bring disorder into our lives. As its name implies, the solitary wasp likes to live alone by itself. They do not want to co-inhabit with their kind. The ones we should be taking special interest in are the social wasps. These varieties are capable of building a population of 5,000 to 10,000 wasps per nestling. That’s an ugly quantity particularly if the flying vermin decides to construct their nest right next to your residence.

Unhappily for us, wasps are very hard to get rid of. They are certified a menace to our safety and wellbeing and having them around is not healthy for anybody. They attack us without the slightest aggravation, so imagine how they will respond if they sense you are trying to eliminate them. And if you are unsuccessful in your effort to remove them, then watch your back. They will come back to pounce on you, this time with retaliation, definitely irritated and out for your blood. They will also come back bringing with them a reinforced number of wasps.

          ]]>

Have you considered what you will do in the event the wasps decide to invade your airspace? Maybe you can make your mind up not to come out and wait in the households always. You can run out protected with heavy outfits every time you have to buy something. You can choose to go out only during night or when it’s raining. Really, you’ll never agree to any of the aforementioned options. Why, it’s like being held prisoner in your own properties. It’s upsetting and shameful, to say the least.

Perhaps, hiring a professional wasp pest control company is your best bet to fight the wasp infestation away from your house. There is nothing more to expect. It’s you or them, there is no stalemate here. You cannot co-exist with each other. I don’t think you’ll be willing to give up your own kingdom to a bunch of airborne vermin, no matter how strong or dangerous they are. No way, definitely!

Hiring a professional wasp pest control specialist to handle the job means you will be getting free of the wasps in the best way possible. Let’s face it. They are the experts and they have devoted a lot of their time in fighting these unreliable flying critters. Suffice it to say, have the obligatory knowledge, the skill and the state-of-the-art equipment to pursue and get rid of the wasps effectively and permanently. The moment they arrived at your residence, everything will be under control and your worries will be gone permanently.

Pick up any newspaper or browse though any of the local online news markets under the health section, and one of the most relevant topics that comes up is; Bed Bugs.

High end hotels and boutiques, schools, government offices….it seems that nowhere has been impervious to these infestations.

These nasty little pests have made quite a comeback in the U.S. and the outbreak of infestations is steadily on the rise.

With Bed Bugs increasing over 500 percent in the last few years according to the National Pest Management Association, protecting your mattress and box spring with a proven, secure encasement is a critical step in keeping your environment bed bug free. We put this Faq together to educate you about Bed Bugs and how to protect those you care about from these pests.

What are Bed Bugs?

Bed Bugs are small, oval-shaped, non-flying insects that belong to the insect family Cimicidae. Nymphs (juveniles) can be as small as 1.5 mm, while adults can grow to 5-7 mm in length.

What do Bed Bugs look like?

Bed Bugs have small, flat bodies. Nymphs are clear in color and appear bright red after feeding. Adult Bed Bugs are reddish brown, appearing redder after feeding. Fully engorged Bed Bugs bear little resemblance to their original state and are often thought to be a different insect altogether.

Where are Bed Bugs found?

Bed Bugs can be found in poor sanitation conditions, as well as in clean environments. Crowded living quarters also facilitate the spread of Bed Bugs. Bed Bugs can live in any area of the home – in tiny cracks in furniture, as well as on textiles and upholstery, though they tend to be most common in areas where people sleep, generally concentrated in beds, mattresses, box springs and bed frames – not on the sleeping surfaces.

          ]]>

Bed Bugs often reside in curtains, edges of carpets, corners inside dressers, cracks in wallpaper and inside the spaces of wicker furniture.

How do Bed Bugs feed?

Bed Bugs feed by sucking blood from humans and animals. Bed Bugs feed on the blood of human beings but can suck blood from other animals as well. Birds and mice are the most common animals. Bed Bugs most often feed at night time when people are asleep. Bed Bugs are attracted by both warmth and the presence of carbon dioxide, which is what we exhale in breathing. The bugs climb up onto skin and pierce with two hollow tubes, one of which injects anti-coagulants and anesthetics. The other tube is used to withdraw blood, feeding for about five minutes before returning to their hiding places. When they feed, they inject a salivary secretion into the wound to prevent coagulation.

How long do Bed Bugs live?

A well fed bedbug can live anywhere from four to six months, while a dormant one might live without feeding for up to 18 months.

How are Bed Bugs spread?

Bed Bugs spread by crawling from any article of furniture, clothing or bedding to another and laying eggs. Bed Bugs may also be present in boxes, suitcases, or other goods that are moved between residences or from a hotel to a home. Because Bed Bugs can also live on clothing from infested homes, a person wearing infested clothes can also facilitate the spread.

What are the signs/symptoms of bed bug bites?

There may be a cluster of bites instead of singular ones, and this is typically caused by disturbing the bugs while they feed, causing them to detach and return to feed momentarily. The bites can be found just about anywhere on your body, with exposed bits of skin being the preferred feeding ground for the bugs, making your face a target along with arms and legs. Small, flat, or raised bumps on the skin are the most common sign; redness, swelling, and itching commonly occur

The best way to keep your mattresses bed bug free, is by purchasing Bed Bug Mattress covers or mattress encasements. There are a few companies around that offer mattress encasements that are 100% guaranteed impervious against bed bugs. Sadly, once your mattress had become infected with bed bugs, there is nothing you can do but have the mattress destroyed and have your domicile fumigated, which is quite costly and poses health risks of its own. While mattress covers and mattress encasements do not guarantee that your home will remain bed bug free, they do guarantee that your mattress will not be infected and greatly decreases the chances of a full infestation.

What are bed bugs? Bed bugs are one of the most annoying pests around. You can imagine how film makers can make even these annoying insects the most lovable creatures, in the movies.

So, pictures of bed bugs in today’s magazines and textbooks aren’t as loathing. Pictures of bed bugs and bed bug bites that you might see these days are just like pictures you might see roaches, ticks, ants, bees, and other kinds of insects. They are even humanized, characterized, or given physical attributes of humans.

The True Picture

Examining the bed bug under a microscope, you will find that they are wingless insects. Bed bugs have waxy and protective skin covers, and aren’t much different than any other insect.

Pictures of bed bugs show that bed bugs are very small, even microscopic. Looking at the from the top, they look like flattened organisms. This makes sense because they can creep and hide into the tiniest cracks, crevices, and holes in walls, floors, doors, and ceilings.

Their tiny size facilitates the need to take pictures of bed bugs using microscopes or magnifying glasses. Trying to look at a bed bug in person would prove very difficult, indeed, as they are too small to see with the naked eye.

If you have the super hero gift of Supervision, then you might probably be able to see and enjoy the physical attributes of bed bugs without magnifying glasses.

Where To Find Bed Bugs

Bed bugs don’t normally leave their hiding places in the daytime, which is another reason why it is easier to just look at their pictures in magazines and textbooks.

          ]]>

These tiny creatures are nocturnal so night time is party time for them. At night, bed bugs can be seen coming out in search of blood. Vampiric little things, aren’t they? Our human eyes are weaker and less focused at night so, we can hardly see these bed bugs when they are most active at night, hunting and partying. If you feel like you are being plagues by bed bug bites, this may be the reason.

Bed bugs are almost always found in crevices and small holes in the walls or on the floor.

Finding bed bugs is also tedious, requiring a lot of luck on the part of the searcher, or the person looking out for bed bugs. Why? Because full-grown, or adult, bed bugs can store food in their stomachs for about a year or more.

Unfortunately for you, you now know why pictures are more accessible than actual and live bed bugs, even if you are sure your place or bed is a breeding ground for these elusive creatures. The same hold true for pictures of bed bugs bites.

Bed Bugs’ Eggs

Bed bugs are too small for us to see them easily. Not surprisingly, their eggs are even smaller. Pictures of bed bugs’ eggs are almost always miniscule as it stands in real life already, but in actual encounters, they are truly microscopic!

They can be carried through the air by dust in the wind. This makes bed bugs’ eggs infamous. They can be easily spread because of their light weight and size.

Closer examination of bed bug egg pictures will show that their eggs are almost like all the other insect eggs, tiny, microscopic, but equipped with structures that can make them independent. So, bed bugs’ eggs can hatch by themselves even without the mother bug around.

It takes just 10 days for bed bugs’ eggs to hatch. By that time, new bed bugs are born into the world, adding to the rapidly multiplying bed bug population world wide.

Female bed bugs, as shown by some pictures acquired through the Internet and books, become like queen ants. They get much bigger before laying eggs. This is because female bed bugs can lay about 300 eggs in one pregnancy. How’s that for
a family!

Getting Rid of Bed Bugs

Through understanding and examination of bed bugs’ pictures, we can picture out and understand how pesticides work.

Through pictures, we can see that bed bugs have protective waxy coverings that make them the same as most insects. It is this characteristic that makes bed bugs, and other insects with the same features, able to survive harsh and rapid environment changes, and even extinction. Think of the cockroach, and bed bugs are like that too!

There are many pesticides that target these protective coverings. Insecticides mostly contain powdered silicon and glass granules that break into this protective covering.

If you look closely at bed bugs’ pictures, you will see that through the protective coverings, there are the bed bugs’ vulnerable insides and bodies. Pesticides attack these structures, killing the bed bugs in a matter of minutes or hours.

It is much more desirable, that rather than looking at pictures of beg bug bites from yourself, or others who have fallen prey to these little vampires, to be looking at pictures of dead bed bugs who hopefully hadn’t had the chance to feed on anything or anyone.
